BARBADOS

Glenis Holder was born and raised in Barbados. Since graduating from Queens College, a high school in Barbados she has been drawing from the culture of pageantry and costuming to investigate themes of movement, color and ritual. Glenis studied fine arts at the prestigious Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City, where she met Adya and Jasmin. Glenis was a finalist in the Skowhegan Art Residency program review 2003, and is currently developing multimedia projects aimed at celebrating the female body, by striping away defunct feminist notions and redefining the line of feminine empowerment. Feminism in high heels and nothing else...
